The Sight Center is pleased to share information about support groups in our service area.  The following groups are in Greater Toledo and are open to new members.

Seeing & Listening with the Heart

Location:
Secor Senior Loft Apartments – Meeting Room (first building)
3839 Secor Road (at Secor & Monroe), Toledo, OH 43623

Meeting Schedule:
Meets on the 4th Sunday of every month, year-round
Time: 2:00 – 4:00 PM
Note: Schedule may change if a national holiday falls on a meeting day.

Format:

  • Snacks provided through member generosity

  • Program varies based on group needs and interests

About the Group:
Seeing & Listening with the Heart is an interfaith group that empowers individuals living with vision and hearing challenges. We meet monthly to share experiences, explore challenges and successes, and foster a sense of support and community. Guest speakers from medical and community fields provide valuable information on resources and developments related to ocular, auditory, and general health.

The group promotes fellowship, spiritual enrichment, positive collaboration, and encouragement for living life to the fullest.

Faith Walker Blind Outreach

Location:
Trinity Lutheran Church
4560 Glendale Avenue (near Byrne) Toledo, OH 43614

Meeting Schedule:
Meets on the 2nd Saturday of select months
Meeting Months: March, April, May; September, October, November
No Meetings: June, July, August, December
Time: 4:30 – 6:30 PM

Format:

  • Church provides a full meal

  • Followed by music, entertainment, or a program

  • Programming varies based on group needs and interests

    Inner Vision Group

    Location:
    St. Andrew United Methodist Church
    3620 Heatherdowns Blvd. (near Byrne Road)
    Toledo, OH 43614

    Meeting Schedule:
    Meets every 2nd Tuesday, every other month
    Meeting Months: April, June, August, October, December


    No Meetings: January, February, March, May, July, September, November
    Time: 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM

    Format:
    Potluck or box lunch followed by a program tailored to the group’s needs and interests.

    Mission:
    The Inner Vision Ministry Group provides social, spiritual, and educational opportunities in a safe and encouraging environment for individuals living with visual disabilities. The group also promotes awareness, education, and acceptance of the talents, skills, gifts, and needs of people who are blind or visually impaired.
